Invest in Happiness

Whats going on, Team?

This week, I’ve been thinking about what I spend my money on, and have been reading about habits of healthy and happy people.  As a college student, I spend quite a bit of my limited funds on going out with friends, movie/concert tickets, food, and books.  There hasn’t ever been a time where I have ‘treated myself’ or saved up for the next gaming console or whatever.  A lot of my spending goes towards intangible things, or mostly the quest for knowledge.

As I explore the corner of the internet that is motivation/inspiration/entrepreneurship I come to realize that I’m spending my money on the ‘right things’.  They say happy people spend their money on experiences and friends, rather than material goods.  Concert tickets over new clothes.  Going out with friends over video games.  That sort of thing.

However, I have come across people who ARE truly happy investing in video games to play with their friends, or going shopping with a significant other.

I’ve seen people achieve happiness through unconventional means!  Gary Vee is notorious for being happy through constantly hustling.

What I’m trying to say is, invest your time/money/energy/effort in whatever makes you happy.  If you can honestly look at what your spending yourself on and say “I am truly satisfied with how things are and where my money is going”

If what your spending yourself on isnt making you happy and doesn’t feel right, then why do it?

Its that simple.

Have a great week,

Joe.

  1. Yes this is such a great post! You can never go wrong by investing in knowledge and it is so awesome to see that you already know the importance of pursuing things that make you happy 🙂

  2. Gary Vaynerchuk is the man! completely agree with doing whatever makes you happy:) The problem with this I think is that people think that buying material things will make them happy, but constantly shows it doesn’t. Great post:)
